We start by sanding down the tub's surface, fill in cracks and worn areas. Acid wash, acetone rinse, then apply several coats of primer adhesive, then several coats of urethane paint and glaze.

clean and remove
To prepare for resurfacing, first the tub must be cleaned with a putty knife, the drain cover must removed and masks off the faucets. Next is cleaning the tub to remove the impurities that can hinder adhesion of the new finish.

Troweling fiberglass putty into deep chips and scratches, just as putting would on a wall. After the hardening of fiberglass next step is sanding.
applying coats of tub painting
Last steps are applying 2 coats of primer adhesive and 4 to 7 coats of acrylic urethane paint glaze. Dry to the touch in 15 minutes. Cures in 48 to 72 hours.
Reglaze Tub Steps
1 Prep 1: strip existing caulk if needed repair & patch if needed. Sand & scrap tub.
2 Acid wash: cover tub surface complete with acidwash, scrub, rince.
3 Acetone rinse: rince entire area with acetone, wipe entire tub out with cloth.
4 Prep 2: tape & paper entire area around surface to be glazed.
5 Tack: Take tack cloth and remove particles from surface.
6 Primer: Criss cross apply second coats of adhesive primer.
7 Glaze: 4-coating + cover area complete with 4th part glaze compound.
8 Finish: Pull paper & tape.
